Literature Text

The tiniest ant
     moving
           along
A trail of survivors.
I watch.
Watch them march
                determined.

...
and I cry.
I, who could so easily
        make them whither,
    watch.
I watch in pain
as tiny creatures
find hope
    determination
                  survival,
in a world
         where I,
    have not.
They stay strong
          as I crumble
in my fragility.
This poem was written a few months ago, but it is one I am immensely proud of.
At the time of writing, I was sitting outside Taciana's house, on the ground, sketching a flower (no idea where that sketch has gone), when all of a sudden, an ant comes crawling across my page. Which led to me thinking about what an ants life would be like, and how hard they have to work to survive.

The arrangement of the words is reflective of a lone ant's movement. I thought that was a good touch to the piece.
